Meet the experienced and friendly team who help make Nappanee Family Eyecare the leading provider of vision care products and services in Nappanee.

Administration

Dori

Operations Manager

Dori has worked in the optometric practice for over 25 years and she has been with Nappanee Family Eyecare since 2000. She has mastered all areas of our office and continues to serve our patients with excellence. She leads by example and has developed into an exceptional servant leader. She received her certification from the American Board of Opticians in 2007. Although much of her time is spent coordinating efforts between the other staff directors & training other staff, she can still fill in for any staff position for everyday operations at a moment’s notice. She also handles many of our IT challenges. Dori has served as President and Treasurer of the Northern Indiana Spina Bifida Association. She has also participated in the Nappanee Leadership Academy.

She and her husband, Abbot, have been married for 26 years and they have two children, Brittney and Treyton. She enjoys running and she completed her Scuba certification in 2013 and is now PADI certified. She also enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her 2 dogs, Tug and Bella.

Lisa

Director of Finance

Lisa has been with Nappanee Family Eyecare since 2000. She is from Goshen and graduated from Anderson University with a bachelor's degree in marketing & management information systems. She oversees all areas of finance- account payables, payroll, preparation of monthly financials and directs other financial reporting. She has assisted in marketing & purchasing as well.

She looks forward to spending time with family & friends and loves to do all she can to support her grown kids. In her free time she enjoys working out & going on walks, shopping, and being on the lake if she’s not on a beach. She is a fan of most sports and avidly roots for The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Melanie

Human Resources Director

Melanie recently joined Nappanee Family Eyecare as the HR Administrator. Her skills have quickly proven valuable to our team. She has worked in ophthalmology since 2015 and enjoys building relationships with her team and the community.

Melanie graduated from Indiana University South Bend with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She majored in Mass Communications with a minor in Interpersonal Communications. She played collegiate volleyball for 4 years.

Melanie moved to Nappanee in 2017. She is married to her husband, Cam, and they have a toddler daughter named Piper. Melanie loves reading, as well as spending time at the library and Main Street Roasters in town. She enjoys quality time with her family and friends, being active, and trying new restaurants.

Casey

Director of Operations

Casey has recently joined Nappanee Family Eyecare after several years as an executive in the manufacturing world. He works to improve efficiencies in our current processes and in the implementation of new procedures. His ability to manage and lead, coupled with his inherent sense to tap into unrealized opportunities have made him an excellent addition to our team.

Casey is a 2010 graduate of the University of Southern Indiana where he played on the Division II National Championship baseball team. Casey enjoys spending time with his wife and their four young children. In his spare time, he tries to spend time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and golfing.

Patient Care

Lauren

Director of Patient Care

Lauren joined our patient care team in 2023. She has a passion for serving people and enjoys assisting our patients in a caring, professional manner.

Lauren grew up in Nappanee, moved to Nashville, TN after school, and returned in 2021 to be close to family. She loves spending time with her three nieces and is always up for a great cup of coffee. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, going on walks and spending time outdoors.

Audrey

Patient Care Coordinator

Audrey has worked in healthcare since 2022 and joined our practice to become a patient care team member in 2023. She has grown a lot in a short time caring for our patients in a professional manor

Audrey and her husband were married in August of 2023.

Sam

Patient Care Coordinator

Sam has worked in the area of patient care for over 20 years and has continued to be a part of the Nappanee Family Eyecare team into her retirement. She is enjoying being semi-retired while still helping out our team.

She has been married to her husband, Rick, for 17 years. She loves spending time with her 4 grandkids! They are the light of her life! Her hobbies include, laying in the pool, being at the beach and always has a good book to read.

Clinical Care

Bridgett

Optometric Technician, Health Information Analyst, & Special Testing

Bridgett has worked at Nappanee Family Eyecare since January 2015. She works within all areas of Clinical Care- working as an examining Optometric Technician, Health Information Analyst and is also proficient in Special Testing that we utilize to aid in the diagnosis of ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, blepharitis, and dry eye syndrome. As an Optometric Technician, her main role is to gather patient information to better assist the doctor in the examination process.

Outside of the office, she loves spending time with her family, traveling across the country, and attending Notre Dame football games.

Erica

Director of Retail
Optometric Technician, Health Information Analyst, & Special Testing

Erica has served in the optical field since March 2012 and joined our office in 2017 along with Dr. Oglesbee. She helps the doctors with gathering, validating, and analyzing patient data as a Health Information Analyst. She also assists in all areas of Special Testing and helps with dispensing new glasses and making adjustments with patient’s eyewear.

Erica and her husband, Jason, live in Nappanee with their three daughters, Madison, Sydney, and Kennedy. She enjoys spending time with her family and working out in her free time.

Shelby

Director of Clinical Care
Optometric Technician & Health Information Analyst

Shelby joined Nappanee Family Eyecare in February 2020. She works in the areas of pre-testing and scribing in which we gather, validate and analyze patient data.

She completed her undergrad at Butler University and graduated with a master's in science from Purdue in 2019. In 2022, Shelby and her husband Spencer welcomed their first baby to the family. They have two labs, Diggle and Ace. In her spare time, she loves reading, spending time with family and surrounding herself with plants, animals, and all things outdoors.

Maddie

Optometric Technician & Special Testing

Maddie joined Nappanee Family Eyecare in the fall of 2020. She works as an examining technician, assisting the doctor in preliminary testing for the doctors along with special testing.

Maddie married her best friend, Tyler in May 2020. She enjoys working out, reading, traveling, and baking. She loves spending time with family. During the summer of 2015, she lived in Yellowstone National Park.

Cara

Optometric Technician, Health Information Analyst & Special Testing

Cara joined our Nappanee Family Eyecare team at the end of 2020. Prior to joining our office, she worked as a medical scribe. She is a health information analyst and helps the doctors with gathering, validating, and analyzing patient data. In addition, she also works in the areas of pretesting and special testing.

Cara is originally from Elkhart, but she and her family now live in Wakarusa. She and Dylan have been married since October 2019. Their daughter, Jadyn was born a year later in October 2020. She enjoys traveling, making memories with her family, shopping, and being outdoors. They also have a golden doodle named Maverick.

Mackenzie

MacKenzie was part of our team back in 2018 and she left for several years to be a stay at home mom with her boys. We were grateful when she returned in 2021. She currently works in the areas of examining technician gathering preliminary information for the doctors and special testing.

Mackenzie is from Elkhart and she currently lives in Syracuse with her three boys: Kameron, Chase and Bradley. She has her Bachelors in Pubic Relations and minor in Organizational Communications from IUPUI. She enjoys making people laugh, baking/cooking, but ultimately being around friends and family during her time off at work. You’ll always find her at a local coffee shop, antique boutique or with her munchkins making memories together.

Claire

Optometric Technician & Special Testing

Claire joined our clinical care team part time in the Spring of 2023. She now works full time at our office and enjoys working with our patients.

Prior to working at Nappanee Family Eyecare, she was an esthetician. In her spare time, she enjoys being outside, reading and spending time with friends and family.

Frame Stylists

Brittney

Director of Optical

Brittney has worked at Nappanee Family Eyecare since February 2020 and has enjoyed being a part of our optical team. She has quickly proven herself to be a leader in this vital area of the office.

She is married to her husband, Blair, and they have 2 kids; Bailey and Oliver. Brittney is active in her worship team at Living Gospel Church in Nappanee. In her spare time, she enjoys watching her kids play sports, spending time with family and friends, baking and cooking, and going to concerts and musicals.

Krystal

Optical Technician & Lab Coordinator

Krystal has been in the optical field for over 20 years. Joining the staff in 2010. She has experience with eyewear selections and lens designs. Along with, dispensing, adjusting and repairing eyewear.

Krystal and her husband, Scott, reside in Goshen. They have two adult children, Kalli and Kyle. She enjoys spending time with family, friends and their variety of animals.

Rhonda

Optical Technician

Rhonda has been working in the optical field since February 2006. Rhonda joined our office in 2017 and is busy with eyewear selections, dispenses, and makes fitting adjustments with eyeglasses. She and her husband, Doug, live on a grain farm between Nappanee and Wakarusa.

They have two children, Kristen and Derek. She enjoys gardening, reading and is actively involved in ministries at the Yellow Creek Mennonite Church.

Mabel

Optical Technician

Mabel returned Nappanee Family Eyecare in 2023 after taking a few years break from optometry. She came back learning roles in both patient care and optical. She has proven to be a quick learner and great asset to our optical team so she will be joining them full time.

Mason and Mabel have been married since August 2022. We have 2 dogs Mack, a German Shepherd, and Edna, a Yorkie. She got her Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a concentration in Journalism from IUSB. She loves spending her free time with family and friends. She also loves traveling and most of all going to Disney World every chance she gets!

Taylor

Optical Assistant

Taylor joined Nappanee Family Eyecare the summer of 2020. She is beginning her freshman year at IUSB, majoring in Biological Science, with hopes of pursuing a career in optometry. Within the office, Taylor assists our optical team with checking in and verifying glasses along with edging lenses.

Taylor enjoys painting, drawing, and reading a good book. She enjoys spending time with family and friends as well.

Insurance Specialists

Gail

Insurance & Billing

Gail has been with Nappanee Family Eyecare since March of 2016. She works within our Patient Care Services and serves as our Medical Billing Coordinator. She is grateful to be back working and serving in her hometown of Nappanee as well as being a part of the Nappanee Family Eyecare team.

Gail has been married to her husband, Danny, since 1979 and has three wonderful children who married 3 other wonderful children. They have 10 terrific grandchildren as well. Being grandma is Gail’s favorite role! In her free time she likes to read and walk outdoors. She also enjoys baking goodies, camping, and being with friends in her free time. Gail always tries to get some laughter in each day and she always adds humor to our staff meetings.

Robin

Insurance & Billing, EOB Reconciliation, & Accounts Receivable

Robin has been in the optical field since 2004. She joined our staff in the spring of 2018 posting insurance payments. She graduated from Indiana University with a BA in Economics and Psychology.

She and her husband, Christopher, live in Nappanee. They have two daughters, Kennedy and Paige. Robin has spent time volunteering on several fundraising committees for the community and schools. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling to see her daughters, reading, watching IU basketball, and spending time with family and friends.
